Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Receives Major Donation from its Foundation

The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation pledges $1 million in support of the Medical Center

The Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Foundation made a $1 million pledge to further support expansion, services, and programs at the Medical Center.

Lou Weiss, Chair of the Foundation presented the ceremonial check for the $1 million pledge to Bergen New Bridge President and CEO, Deb Visconi.

“The support from our Foundation is vital to us as we continue to innovate, grow, and expand to best serve the needs of our diverse communities,” said Deborah Visconi, President and CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “I am honored to work with our Foundation and thankful for their support. Together we will address healthcare disparities, continue to increase access to care, create programs such as our Center for Positivity and Eating Disorders, LGBTQ+ Wellness Center, Hope and Resiliency Center for Youth and provide state of the art digital mammography and MRI technology while reaching directly into our communities with our satellite locations and our New CareRite Now locations in select Bergen County Inserra Supermarkets.”

“Today is an important day that has been many years in the making,” said Foundation Chair Lou Weiss.  “As the fundraising arm of the Medical Center, the Foundation is stepping up and launching this year with our biggest commitment ever.  I am proud that we can make this pledge to support the continued growth, expansion, and vital work of the Medical Center.”

“Bergen New Bridge has become a center for health activism doing so much for so many both at the Medical Center and directly into our communities,” said Bergen County Commissioner Mary Amoroso. “We are grateful to the Bergen New Bridge Foundation for this $1 million pledge which will help the Medical Center continue caring for our neighbors.”

“We thank the Bergen New Bridge Foundation for their $1 million pledge which is another testament to the growth of the Medical Center and more importantly will directly benefit the patients, residents, and everyone served by Bergen New Bridge,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco.

“On behalf of the Care Plus Bergen Trustees, I would like to thank the Foundation for this major gift pledge. I have a long relationship with this Medical Center.  My brother was a resident in long term care for many years and now my sister is a resident, so I know first-hand the incredible, compassionate care given at this Medical Center,” said Care Plus Bergen Board of Trustees Chair, Julia Orlando.  “I hope this pledge is the catalyst for many other major gifts and philanthropic support because the care given here, the people providing that care, the leadership and the community commitment is unparalleled.”

“Today is a proud day for the Foundation and the Medical Center and it has been many years in the making.  As the former Chair of the Foundation, we were building to this, and it is a privilege to be a part of this moment,” said Foundation Trustee John Cosgrove.  “On behalf of the trustees, I thank our current Chair, Lou Weiss, for his leadership which helped get our Foundation to the point where we could make this substantial pledge to support the Medical Center.”
