Inpatient Withdrawal Management
This 50+ bed inpatient Withdrawal Management unit provides an initial physical examination and health assessment by addiction board-certified physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing attendants under the joint auspices of the Department of Medicine and Behavioral Health Services. Also, a complete biopsychosocial assessment is completed by Licensed or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors to assist with discharge planning and admission to the appropriate level of care. The multidisciplinary team monitors the safe and controlled withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines. Upon completion of withdrawal management, the patient will be referred to the most appropriate level of care to continue addiction treatment.
Bergen New Bridge Medical Center has expanded its Withdrawal Management program to accommodate higher acuity patients. We can better accommodate patients with ambulating issues or multiple medical issues also needing withdrawal management.
